Queer Lifafa – LGBTQ+ Mental Health Community

Queer Lifafa is the mental-health chapter associated with Queering in Chandigarh. It focuses on creating supportive spaces for queer people and discussing mental health and wellbeing.

Pahal Foundation – LGBTQ+ Support and Inclusion

Pahal Foundation is a grassroots organization working with gender and sexual minorities and other marginalized communities across several northern Indian regions, including Chandigarh.

Its programmes include areas such as:

Olive Café & Bar – Sector 26

Olive Café & Bar in Sector 26 is a general social and dining venue in Chandigarh that hosts different kinds of community and social activities.

Current event listings show regular social mixers and other activities at the venue.

It can therefore be mentioned as a general social venue rather than as a dedicated LGBTQ+ club.

Alliance Française de Chandigarh

Alliance Française de Chandigarh has also participated in inclusive cultural programming involving the Chandigarh queer community.

In February 2026, its Wall Art Festival included a Face Art, Music & Collective Expression programme in partnership with Queering in Chandigarh and the Queer Lifafa collective.

Offbeat Karaoke – Tricity Queer Events

Offbeat Karaoke in the Mohali area has also been used for queer community programming.

A September 2026 event titled QIC × Offbeat Karaoke – Shaadi Night brought Queering in CHD and Offbeat Karaoke together for a queer-focused cultural and karaoke celebration.

The event was held at Jubilee Walk, Sector 70, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali).

Since this is an event-based association rather than a permanent LGBTQ+ venue, check current QIC announcements before making plans.

Bal Bhawan, Sector 23

Bal Bhawan, Sector 23, Chandigarh has been used for official community programmes involving LGBTQ+ and transgender communities.

In March 2024, the Chandigarh Administration's Department of Women and Child Development organized a Queer Mela at Bal Bhawan in collaboration with Saksham Prakriti Welfare Society, Queering in Chandigarh, Queer Lifafa and other organizations.

The programme included assistance related to identity documents, government services, employment registration, welfare schemes, healthcare and legal guidance.

Bal Bhawan is a public/community facility and should not be considered a permanent LGBTQ+ venue.

Rose Garden, Chandigarh

Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is one of Chandigarh's best-known public parks.

The park has also been used for community gatherings, including an early Queering in Chandigarh community potluck described in recent coverage.

It remains a general public park and is not an officially designated LGBTQ+ meeting venue.

Visitors should follow normal public-park rules and respect other visitors.

Chandigarh has many well-known public and recreational locations. These places are useful for sightseeing, walking, recreation and general social activities, but they should not automatically be described as LGBTQ+ venues.

Older Chandigarh Listings

Older versions of this page mentioned places such as Hotel Alankar in Sector 17, Blue Ice in Sector 17, the area around Chandigarh Railway Station and a park near the Homeopathic College in Sector 26.

Some of these names can still be found in old online listings, but the older claims that these locations were specifically LGBTQ+ or cruising locations could not be sufficiently verified as current information.

For this reason, Indian Dost does not present these locations as current LGBTQ+ meeting or cruising places.

Blue Ice – Sector 17

Blue Ice has appeared in online restaurant listings at SCO 7, Sector 17-E, Chandigarh. However, we could not establish from reliable current sources that it operates specifically as an LGBTQ+ venue.

If you are interested in visiting any older-listed restaurant, bar or hotel, verify its current status and policies directly before visiting.
